Evening of American Music

The City of Southampton Orchestra kicks off its new 2012-2013 season with a flourish. The concert on Saturday 3rd November, 7.30pm, at Thornden Hall, Chandler’s Ford features an all American programme and is conducted by Principal Conductor, John Traill.
Bernstein's exuberant and brassy Candide Overture is followed by Gershwin's bluesey Piano Concert in F, played by Making Music recommended artist John Paul Ekins. The concert concludes with Copland's wonderful Symphony No. 3, which uses the well-known Fanfare For The Common Man as the main theme of the final movement.
There will be a pre-concert talk by conductor John Traill at 6.45pm – free to ticket holders.
A concert not to be missed!
Tickets: £15. Over-65s £13.
